An explanation of sorts.

"THIS IS FUCKING CREEPING ME OUT, YOU'RE GETTING OBSESSED WITH TANK TURRETS ON MAN BOOBS"

Tank people aka turret heads aka tank heads are something I certainly didn't invent, but found a really cool concept so I adopted it and put my own twist on it. In case you're in a hurry but want to know what on Earth you're looking at, I have condensed the lore in a nutshell:

Essentially "object heads"

The closest match for these turret folks would be the "object head" art genre. You probably have seen those before - usually they take the shape of a human body with an inamimate object for a head. Popular motifs are TVs, for example.

Except...

Actually, the object head classification is only partly applicable. Even the "classic" tank heads actually have an almost humanoid skull underneath their metal turret. Tank heads "born" after ~2022 can even lift up their turrets to expose a face of sorts.

Living among us.

In this setting, tank people live together with humans. They have been treated rather poorly by the humans, who believe they are reborn actual tanks. It later turns out that this was just an alibi, however... And soon, the tables will turn.

Theoretical immortality

While older gens are estimated to live 3 times as long as humans, the new gens can achieve factual immortality - though all gens can get sick or injured and "die" that way. Older gens cannot stomach any food or drink, but the new ones have adapted better.
